Midnight Eargasm.

Midnights during rest days are something that are very special to me. As a nocturnal-convert, these are the times when I am most awake while everyone is in slumber. It's the time where I can lock myself up for a "me time session" in my room and just listen to music. Here are some eargasm-inducing music I've chanced upon this Sunday midnight.

Killing Me Softly by KZ Tandingan

This X-Factor Philippines winner's voice definitely put some X-Factor in this classic. It's a more relaxed and laidback version which I really dig. I first heard this cover over the radio and it was instant eargasm! I itched to get to the net to search for the singer of this version who I found out was a local talent, KZ Tandingan.

Scared to Death by KZ Tandingan

Continuing my building up addiction to this singer, I chanced upon the entry she interpreted at the Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs. The song is composed by Domingo Cubelo Rosco Jr and it's about  guy who suppressed his feelings for a girl in the fear of losing her as a friend.  Somehow, KZ resembles Christina Perri to me in this song. And for that, I think the song is internationally marketable. I'm not a very big fan of the music video even though it's shot in my alma mater. The concept of the story playing backwards is a nice concept but it could use better execution. Mukhang tuod yung lalake.

Back on My Feet by Bamboo

One of the tracks that stood out for me in Bamboo's newly released album as a solo artist would be this, Back on My Feet. It's one of those songs I would love listening to while walking or in a commute. Instant good vibes! :)

Suit and Tie by Justin Timberlake

I can't help but notice the resemblance of this song to a Adam Levine song. It has a retro vibe going on splashed with bits of modern beats. JT sure looked damn fine in this video. Jay-Z part is like Tito Sotto in the Senate,  better if removed.

Way Over in Bleulah Lan by UST One Voice Engineering Chorale

I'm also a fan of choir songs so one entry in this blog is solely dedicated for this genre. This performance is from a college-based choir in the University of Santo Tomas which allowed them to bag a 2-peat in Himig Tomasino, an intercollegiate choral competition in the UST. Way Over in Bleulah Lan is a negro-spiritual song composed by Andre Thomas. I love how the choir sounded very "black" in this piece. There's a Philippine Madrigals version of this in Youtube which is exemplary but I like hearing this better since it sounds less strained and they seem to enjoy the music more.

Lady is a Tramp by Lady Gaga
I'm sure  you're all wondering where the Mother Monster is now. I too have the same question. I don't know if she's just cooking another shocker or her career is at a steady downfall. But then again, some backtracking with her jazzy performance with Tony Bennet in the A Very Gaga Thanksgiving reaffirmed my faith as a Little Monster.
