U-Trip: Dapitan Square

Dapitan Square or fondly called Dap Square is a group of restaurants along Dapitan St. cor. Lacson Ave. It is located near the USTH Hospital Clinical division and Manila Eye Specialists , in front of Jolibee Lacson Branch.

During the day, Dapitan Square is one of the favorite eat-outs of both students and employees of nearly colleges and universities such as UST, UPH, and St.Jude Colleges. They primarily serve meals from sizzling plates to the traditional palayok (clay pot) such as sisig, bulalo, and steak. Prices are quite savvy for students, ranging from 50- 70 pesos for a complete meal and trust me, the taste won’t disappoint.

At night, the innocent Dapitan Square turns into a chill out place for students from a mere group of restaurants. The food outlets still serve your favorite meals even at night, although this time, alcoholic beverages are now part of their menu. A typical night out at Dap Square will cost you about 200 pesos.

The ambient is party-y, you could almost see everyone having a good laugh with their friends. The downside is that Dap Square isn’t smoke free, so you’ll expect to be smelling like nicotine afterwards.

Dap Square is on business every Monday – Friday, from 8am – 4am. Drinks are usually served starting at 4pm. Be sure to drop by at Fridays and those days without classes the next day since a lot of people flock there at those times

Be sure to invite people to go with you there so that someone can drive/walk you home afterwards.

And don’t forget to invite me! Just click the here for my contact number!

Dapitan Square does not serve alcoholic beverages anymore (as of my last visit - February 21,2010).
