Not cool.
This picture was uploaded on Facebook by my professor, Asst.Prof. Rowena Chua, which she captured while she was on her way to work. See how the Nursing profession is lambasted by being included in this list along with the houseboys, drivers, cooks, yaya, and attendants just to name a few. No offense meant to the other workers but you can really see the difference among those jobs written: Nurses/Midwives have academic degrees, pass the government exams and are by their own right, professionals.
Nurses do not deserve to be treated like this just because there is an oversupply!

Ouch. I feel for you.
ReplyDeletePrecisely!!! We need to act more like who we really are... professionals and start taking pride of what we have achieved! Be proud you are a nurse....
ReplyDeleteYes maam! Masyado naman atang nadowngrade ang nurses dito. The BON and PNA should look into these kung gusto nila iimprove ang image ng nursing profession.
ReplyDeletethe ranking of the value of labor causes the underlying problem, unfortunately... every man who works hard in his labor ought to given dignity, in the minimum
ReplyDeleteI think the issue isn't about the ranking but more of the idea that professional are not getting what they have worked hard for. But yes, every man who works deserves to be given dignity.
Wala pa naman akong nakikitang ganyan so far.
ReplyDeleteWait until you go out the college of nursing as a full-pledge registered nurse. I tell you, more injustices will be coming your way. Mababaw pa yan. And the sad part is, most of these injustices are concealed and had been part of the system for so many years. I wonder what the authorities are doing... >.<
ReplyDeleteThe sad part about when you are already employed, you don't have as much liberty of posting about these things online. :/
